In some Blue Group action, the host Germans and Spain posted some singles wins, as German Philipp Kohlschreiber handled Italy's Potito Starace 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) and Spaniard David Ferrer whipped Russian Mikhail Youzhny 6-3, 6-3. Germany and Russia are 1-0 in the Blue Group, while Spain and Italy are 0-1.
