Dortmund suffers double injury blow

08/18/2008 - Dortmund, Germany (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Borussia Dortmund are facing an early season injury headache after losing goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller and defender Dede during their opening 3-2 win over Bayer Leverkusen.

Weidenfeller was stretchered off in the early stages of the second half with a leg wound, while defender Dede is expected to be missing for a significant period of time with possible knee ligament damage.

Early reports have suggested the Brazilian full-back faces at least six months out with a cruciate ligament injury.

"Unfortunately it looks like Dede has picked up a serious injury and that means the game falls into the background for me and makes it hard to talk about," said coach Jurgen Klopp.
