11/20/2008 - Merseyside, England (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Everton manager David Moyes has called for more respect from the Football Association following his fine for improper conduct.
Moyes was hit with a $7,400 fine relating to the charge which followed his banishment from the dugout during the 3-2 win over Stoke City in September.
The Toffees boss was outraged when referee Alan Wiley opted to not award his side a penalty at the Britannia Stadium.
The referee subsequently contacted Moyes and admitted he had made a mistake in not awarding the spot-kick when the scores were level at 2-2.
But after facing a disciplinary panel on Tuesday, the Everton chief has hit out at the FA's own behavior in light of their high-profile 'Respect' campaign.
"Do I think the fine was right? I don't think it was right because I wouldn't have been sent off if it wasn't for the decision the referee made," he told the club's official website.
"The [disciplinary] board there agreed that the referee made a poor decision - and I got sent off and fined for it. There's something not right. Two wrongs don't make a right and I think that's maybe what they've tried to do there.
"I apologized and I shouldn't have been sent off but if you think I'm going to stand back and twiddle my thumbs and not be passionate for my team and the supporters then, I'm sorry, it's not going to be me.
"The referee, as I've said many times, had the courtesy to make a call. I think there's a lot of respect at this moment in time between the players, the managers and the referees, and that's good.
"But I think it would be nice to see a wee bit from the FA as well."
